I missed Thankful Thursday last week because I was away for a couple of days visiting my mother in the province. When I saw my mother I was surprised because she’s so thin and pale. She suffered a severe pain in her stomach. We rushed her to the nearest hospital because she could not sleep well at night due to the pain all over her body. After a few days of thorough tests the doctors found out that the medicine she’s taking for her Osteoporosis causes her esophagus swollen and small part of the intestine was damaged by the strong substance of the medicine. We cannot blame her Osteoporosis doctor because some people who’s taking same medicine where really effective with them. It’s so happen that there’s a conflict to my mother’s hyper acidity with the medicines for her bone. Well the damaged has been done so temporarily we stopped the medication for her osteo and we had to finish the one month medication for her ulcer and swollen esophagus. During my stay in the hospital seeing my mother in pain makes my heart break. If only I could replace her in that present state I will do it, because only we wish for her is a happy and healthy stage of her life (she was a retired Government official). That’s why when we check out from the hospital and she’s doing well now that brings joy to me and to my siblings who worried a lot that there’s a serious problem that might be found out with all the tests. But the doctors says just finish the medication and our mother will be alright.

I am thankful to God for the expertise of the doctors he sent to us especially the one who did the Endoscopy. He even let me took some pictures inside the room and the monitor where we can see the little camera at the tip of the cord inserted to my mother’s esophagus,colon,intestine.etc. So that the rest of the family members can see the test also and they really appreciated this shot.

I am thankful to God for my brothers and sisters who always there for my mother especially our second to the eldest brother who supported us during our stay in the hospital spiritually and financially.

I am thankful to God for my husband who always understand me when I was not on his side because I’m watching over my mother in the hospital.

I am thankful to God for my MIL who always there for us and to my BIL who watch over the computer shop while I am away.

I am thankful also that my daughter who’s mature enough to decide for herself with regards to her new course in college.

And I am really really praising God that He spare my brother’s life during the recent bombing?/explosion? in Glorietta Makati City. His working with Smart Communications Co. he text me that he heard a loud blast when they on their ride back to their office after a lunch with his officemate somewhere near the area of the incident. And after a few hours the news broke up that there’s such explosion happened. I was chatting my brother over the computer that one of his officemate is missing and they cannot reach her mobile phone. The next day he told me that his officemate was one of the dead in the incident. He was late to go for lunch that day because he finished something for his Boss if it’s not for it he may be joining her for lunch and I don’t know, I don’t want to think about that we’ll never see him anymore. I’m really really thankful to God that his alright because with the recent condition of my mother I’m afraid that she will be really shock if something happens to her “bunso” our youngest brother.
